Forgotten Soldiers

After leaving the server to adjust some loadouts and check on the one I actually moderate on.  I will not name names for forum rule purposes.  But will PM the server I moderate for to any staff member who requests it.

I was apparently banned on 24/02/2016 At around 2 - 3 AM EST.

Possible reason, I was in a long standing argument with another player.  I do not know of any other reasons.  I am quite confused as to any other possible reasons, but if you can enlighten me as to what I did wrong.  I will assure you I'll see that it doesn't happen again.

If it was due to me breaking a rule like accidentally typing /record into the chat in order to help a person out.  Than I appologise for that.  I do not play on your server too often, but I do play on it from time to time when things are going slowly on the one I moderate on.  Or when I just want a change of scenery away from having to staff.  I enjoy your server and am usually good at following the rules.

If it was due to my argument with the person I will gladly hold my tongue in the future.

I appologize for my behavior if that was the reason and can assure you it will not happen again.

I forgot to mention, the game is Call of Duty 5 World at War.

Hello and welcome to our forum. I can assure you, typing /record in the chat didn't trigger any type of ban as we encourage players to submit demos if they suspect anyone may cheating or using hacks. So we can completely rule that out. Thank you for helping this person as few players understand how to use the in game recording feature. The banning admin will get back to you as soon as possible.

Aside from my outburst I am usually a fairly reasonable person. And have some habits to break as your servers rules differ from the ones im used to.  I'll have to adjust a little to them.  As far as I know the language was the only one.  I know for a fact that I don't cheat nor hack, I did not use any racism or accuse anybody of hacking as i know that if I need to get somebody for cheating I have to be able to nab them with evidence.  Which brings up another question.  As I am always recording my gameplay with Bandicam out of habit.

I looked over the demos, and see no problems.  I know I did get into an argument with a person.  If that is what it is about.  I do appologise.  If this is a cheating accusation.  As I have had to state many times before.  I do not play this on a computer screen and use a headset as to listen for footsteps.  If I even think I hear somebody on the other side of the wall I open fire.

You'd be amazed how far away you can hear movement in the game.  And with stereo headphones set up right.  You can do a fairly good job of pinpointing their location.  Other times were because.  As I mentioned.  I play on a large TV through an HDMI set up.  So I have a bit of an advantage in seeing stuff in a large picture as opposed to a smaller normal computer screen.

Some of those ones where I was shooting through a wall.  Some of it was a guess, some of it was an attempt at suppression fire.  One of the BAR's best abilities.  Other times were going by memory as to where somebody was when I saw their muzzle flash.

As a lot of people will camp on the server and will sit there.  I just keep their locations in mind.

If this is a cheating accusation, I can assure you I do not cheat.  As can be vouched by the entire staff of people that I play and staff with on Ninja-Gaming's server.  I do not get why you felt playing decent was a reason for a ban.  I just try to play smart.   

If you would be able to help me out here and point out where in the videos suspicion was raised I would be more than happy to explain the scenario.

As I do listen for gunfire and pay close attention to my surroundings.  As has been taught over the years of playing this game.  As well as many other shooters.  The tactics always stay the same.  Specially in games like Quake 3 Arena/Counter Strike/Heroes and Generals etc.

Strap on a good headset, crank up the volume.  Turn down the other volume options and listen for movement.  And enemy voices.  Specially in WaW as the infantry feel the need to announce everything they do.

Other times I shoot randomly is to simply try and confirm my suspicions on somebody's location and hopefully draw out a head or two to check out the location of my shooting. 

Frankly my scores were not even that great after that.  There were still people leagues above my scores.  I simply play careful.

Added my experience on the game.  I know my way around the maps very strongly and have a habit of checking the most popular camping spots.  In the catwalk in Roundhouse, And on the other end of that wall I was at.  All it takes is a little gunfire to pique their curiosity and draw them out.

On a side note, it really does amaze me how many people never think to invest a perk point into Dead Silence.  Those are the players who give me a hard time.  As I can not hear them coming as well.  Can still hear them to a small degree.  But not as much.   

Hopefully this has answered some of your questions and concerns.  As I do not like being called a cheater.  Heck, I can not even cheat on World at War, even if I wanted to as the only time that cheats work is in single player console commands and they are a pain in the BUM to remember.

I would like to add further comments to the Upheaval map.  Again, I know most of the major camping spots and have their locations memorized.  If I hear gunfire come from those general areas.  I'll assume somebody is in those locations.  And will attempt a penetration kill as I have a general feeling as to where the person will be.  When I was shooting at the person in the other house, I could hear them walking around on the floorboards. 

Very feint, but you can hear just enough.  And as I knew that not many of my allies were around me I assumed it was an enemy.  When my bullet actually got a hitmarker it confirmed my reasoning so I went and tried to take him down through the wall so he could not fully retaliate.

If this is not a cheating accusation and this was because of my "Damn You" comment.  I appologize for that.  It was just some friendly banter to keep things interesting.

I can also assure you that while I am sitting and staring at a wall.  I am not cheating, as a person who moderates I know what people like to assume on that manner, but I was merely trying to listen for people.  As I as said before, fight by sound and footsteps.  As they are a huge giveaway.  The subtle variances in the footstep sounds also tell you what kind of terrain they are walking on.  Be it wood, dirt, grass or stone etc.  Or metal in some cases of maps like Corrosive.

I feel the need to mention again that I do play on a large TV, so I will be more privy to notice subtle things like somebody's gun or BUM clipping through building walls. 

No accusations. We simply found your demos to be conclusive for using a wallhack.  If you want I can submit these demos to Ninja, and if he agrees with you we can lift your ban, your choice.

Did you not read my posts?  I do not cheat.  I simply play by sound.  And have played this game for a very long time.  Over 200+ hours just on Steam.  Not including time spent on the PS3 and Xbox versions.  I have a very strong memory of the map layouts.

How you find this conclusive is a mystery to me.  Frankly I invite you to bring this up.  I invite you to point out where you think it was a wallhack.  As last time I checked, playing by sound is not a cheat.  Nor is simply being good.

That you would so quickly jump to a wallhack accusation with such meager evidence is sad.  I have used these tactics quite a few times on your server and any server.  Any call of duty, or shooter for god sakes.  It never changes tactic wise. 

Please read what I said and make sure you comprehend it.  Because I explain in very strong detail my tactics for the game.  Hell, go online right now ingame and test it.  Go and strap in a good sound system.  And actually gauge just how far away you can hear footsteps.

I go by the name of CompleteNewb on there yes,  and I take my reputation very seriously.  To be accused of a cheat based on such meager evidence.  It is insulting.  Hell, how would you like it if I were to go and ban you because of a few lucky kills, kills due to Recon Planes revealing somebody on the other end of walls.  And of the sort. 

No accusations. Respectfully the proof is in these demos which anyone can review for themselves. Obvious wallhack. Almost two full maps of recorded evidence. Extremely obvious to the trained eye.  If we thought you were innocent your ban would have been lifted 4 hours ago. No one is trying to ruin your reputation. Nothing personal at all. We simpy take hacking very serious and don't allow it on our servers. I don't know what else to tell you. We can just drop it right here or you can invite Ninja over to join our chat if you want. We stand by our decision, take it or leave it. Either way we wish you well.

If you actually took the time and tried to understand my fighting tactic.  You would know that I am reacting to the sounds of gunfire, footsteps, guesswork.  And basing my stuff off of where team mates seem to be looking and firing.  As well as based on how long ago I heard a gunshot from an area.  Take the brick building in Upheaval for en example.  Early in the video you can clearly see somebody firing by it.

Get Ninja or dont.  I dont care.  If you want to abuse your admin powers be my guest.  I know I did not cheat and play the game by simple logic and intelligence as opposed to 75% of the bozos who play the game running around like headless chickens.

It's no wonder you can hear everything clear as day.  Even people who camp, they are extremely obvious.  At several points during the demos you can see me shooting at certain spots.  Those are just popular camping spots.  That on average, shooting there will yield a kill 50% of the time.  Stairwells to the brick house overlooking the train.  Broken house on the other side of the bar.  Again, almost always somebody in that nook.  I have played this game for a very very long time and know the major camping spots that people will pretty much always flock to.  Specially during times of high server population.
