Forgotten Soldiers

Good evening FS admin.  I was banned this evening at about 9:45 pm.  I was playing without issue and 2 minutes into new map  i was kicked, tried to rejoin and said i was perm. banned.  I cant say i saw any console warnings.

Please no accusing other players for hacks without proof. You break rule 2 when you falsely accuse another player of hacking without showing us a demo. We can't stress rule 2 enough.  All it does is play right into the paranoia and confusion caused by players that use hacks, ruins the game for admins and other players and does nothing to combat the problem.  You have the option of posting a demo if you suspect that a player may be cheating.   If there is proof in your demo the hack will be banned.  Better to first spectate the player to make sure you're not making a bad call and breaking our second rule.  If you were correct in your assessment we would have appreciated you taking the time to spectate Buonaparte to let us know.  As soon as you started calling Buonaparte out I started spectating and found no proof of hacks.  We have spectated this player in the past and found a clean 5 year CoDWaW PunkBuster history dating back to Jul 23, 2011. The end result was that you falsely accused a clean player of hacking, then disrespected and cussed the player out twice.  You need to understand and acknowledge our server rules before we can lift your ban. The rules are in place so everyone can spend more time concentrating on the game.  You can always type !rules in chat on the server if you have any questions.


Rule #1: No cheating or using hacks.
Rule #2: No false hackusations without submitting a demo.
Rule #3: Respect all players regardless of skill level.
Rule #4: No abusive language or behavior towards admins or other players.
Rule #5: No offensive or potentially offensive names, annoying names.
Rule #6: No recruiting.
Rule #7: No advertising or spamming of websites or servers.
Rule #8: No profanity, offensive language or whining allowed (in any language).
Rule #9: No racism, racist remarks, race baiting or antisemitism.
Rule #10: No sexual harassment or sexually oriented language.

Pardon my interjection but this is what caught my eye.  You've been playing on the server for a long time and you know the rules concerning language.  Skirting the rules by typing that particular word is no different than if you would have typed it out.  It shows that you wanted to type the word but knew you would get banned by doing so.  To call out someone that is cheating after you record a demo and post it is one thing but what you were doing is just as much against the rules as someone using a cheat ingame.  Does that make sense?


Anyway, that's my two cents.

good evening  thanks for your replies.  unfortunately yes i said those things  but only after he buonaparte called someone a hack,  and when i was on the rear of map and behind 2 buildings and i get killed by him twice i assumed  but if i had clear info on someone hacking i would submit it. but i was bantering  and it came across as accusing. i did spectate him and did not see any hack, he has a horrible ping and find it tough how he can have 80 to 20 kill/death ratio.   my mistake.   trust me i know the rules and follow them  but sometimes the game gets the best of me.  my apologies.  thanks for your time and getting back.  Paul 

Ban lifted.  In the end we only blame those that use hacks and those that create them since they are the ones that cause these arguments.  Our server is set up as an international server with g_antilag enabled which to a point, evens the playing field between high and low pings. That's why high pingers do just as well as low pingers on our server.  Most populated CoDWaW servers these days have g_antilag enabled. You shouldn't need to worry too much about hackers on our server until they have another Steam sale for CoDWaW.  Right now between admins and regulars who post demos we have a pretty good handle on the hacker situation, knock on wood.  There's a nice window of opportunity to actually play the game with few or no hackers at the moment.
