Forgotten Soldiers

So, I was just poking around codutility looking at the monstrous amount of custom maps available... while doing so, I had an idea I 'd like to pitch. How about doing weekend campaigns? Something like change up the map rotation for a full weekend once a month with some kind of theme in mind. Like rats maps, or german front, a france campaign etc etc.

With a bit of homework, you could even add a little historical background to the theme. Just an idea though. Seems like a fun way to spice things up a bit.

hmmm, had not thought about a theme weekend.....
I have run themed rotations in the past
some that I can remember were:

• all MtO maps
• original CoD and CoD UO maps
• LNL clan maps
• MTL clan maps

there were a few other themes that I ran with I just cant remember em all now....
I usually run a rotation for about 7 to 10 days so there will likely be themes in again at some point.
any theme suggestions from anyone are welcome
I tried a rats theme, didn't go over so well at the time.

yeah, I've never been a huge fan of rats maps either, but I know there are plenty of people out there who do.

I did some combo themes that worked out well, like rats maps with some classic favs or rat maps with MTL maps....that kind of thing works well, then no one can say its all rats - I dont wanna play

I'm a big fan of custom maps, if you don't mind I'd love to toss together a set or two for consideration in either normal rotation or for the theme idea. "MTL" maps? Not familiar with the acronym.

if you like, post a set of maps in the map suggestions topic, so i always know where to look

Got it. I thought that was the case, but wasn't sure if that was what you meant or not with the MTL thing.

the whole reason I connected to the MtO server in the first place was because it was running a map called bathroom, which was too weird to pass up.  I for one loved the rats theme Grizz.

I could have played em for a week or so myself - but there were very mixed reviews and some I bet did not make it to me due to self censorship, lol
